Bridal Veil Falls

We visited Bridal Veil Falls with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed the excursion. The trail is easy, and the waterfall is beautiful. Bonus activities include playing in the creek and hiking the upper trail which looks out over the Columbia River. The only downside to this trip is that you will most likely be sharing your adventure with plenty of strangers, as it can get fairly crowded.

Bridal Veil Falls is #39 on’s Top 100 List.

My rating: Must See/Favorite (4 stars) (Waterfall – 4 stars, Trail – 3 stars, Experience – 4 stars)

Distance from Beaverton: About an hour’s drive east

Nearest town: Corbett

Nearest city: Portland

County: Multnomah

Length of round-trip hike: 0.66 mile

Best season to visit: Any

Consider combining this trip with: Any of the waterfalls in the gorge. Shepperd’s Dell is the closest to the west, and Coopey Falls is the closest to the east. Upper Bridal Veil Falls is farther upstream (but not accessed from the same trailhead).

Toilet / Amenities: Picnic tables and toilets at the trailhead.

How to get there:

  • From Portland, take I-84 east.
  • Turn off at Exit 28 for Bridal Veil.
  • After 0.6 miles come to a junction and bear right to a stop sign.
  • Turn right onto the historic highway and drive .3 miles to a parking lot clearly signed for Bridal Veil.
